Monthly Challenge Update: How close are you to 300km?

On the first of February, we challenged you to put in your winter cycling training - so we thought we'd check in to see how it's going!

Cycle 300km in a month

So far, Mark S has been consistently updating with regular 17km training rides, whilst David B is all about the long rides.

If you feel like you're falling behind your target kilometres, never fear, there's still one more weekend worth of long rides to go before the end of February. Lond rides can be a great way to kick off your weekend, just make sure you take some basic repair essentials such as inner tubes, pump and tyre levers so you don't find yourself miles from home with a flat tyre (which is a similar situation to being up a certain creek without a paddle!)

Don't forget, you can cover extra distance indoors - whether you're a soggy Brit who has had more use for your kayak in recent weeks or a blizzard-bound American, February is a great time to try out turbo trainers or rollers. A lot of the big retailers have deals on indoor training alternatives right now, so keep your eyes peeled for a bargain (you'll also make yourself hugely popular by setting up your bike in the family room and taking over the TV!)

    I am on 174.99km for February, which is a lot of cycling for me. I am nursing an inflamed Achilles so have reduced my running and increased cycling.

    Hard to ride in such conditions, cycling has actually been a blessing in our heat, more pleasant than running in a heat wave! Having regular treatment on the Achilles, so slowly but surely, not much will keep me down!
