Remembrance Sunday: 2 minutes silence

Posted by Cags R under General on 11 November 2012 at 12:00 AM

2 minutes silenceHere on Tribesports, we ask you to do a lot of things for 2 minutes to improve your fitness; from planks to wall squats, there are a lot of ways to Challenge yourself for 2 minutes.

Today we ask for you to join a 2 minute silence at 11am in order to remember those who have fought in wars around the world and especially those who lost their lives in the defence of their country. This is a tradition in many countries around the world, it goes under many different names and there are different symbols and customs within each country but the purpose is the same; to remember and respect your veterans.

I am at sea at the moment (civvie job), but a couple of the lads and I took some time out to remember fallen comrades at 11:00. I am glad to see that it is not only ex/current servicemen that are remembering. Thanks TS

Was running an event and they let a gun off at 11 and 11:02 so that runners could stop and do the silence if they wanted to - the event was held on an army training base so we thought it was very appropriate

I was on a plane from Toronto - the captain made an anouncement - I must confess I didn't even know what day of the week I was in let alone what time zone so the nudge helped and I took a break from watching No Limits
