Adidas Originals

Last Thursday we were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Adidas new Winter/Autumn collection. The top floor had collections from Adidas Sport, Stella McCartney and Adidas Originals and on arrival we headed straight for the sports section where the lovely Kirtsyn gave us the grand tour. There where a number of great new products which really caught our eye. The new range of trainers had adopted a bible code of Fit-Feel-Transition and it appears to have really paid off,  with the new Adidas Zero's boasting a number of new and creative features.

Adidas Adizero Feather.

We first got a good look at the Adidas Adizero Feather (which is literally as light as a feather being the lightest in the new range) This shoe offered all the benefits of the minimalist running shoe only with more stability and support, perfect for the long-distance runner. The trainer posessed a couple of cool features. One being Sprintweb, a seamless lightweight welding process which offers maximum support to the foot. And Sprintframe which removed layers of glue and the stobel board getting you as close to the ground as possible and offering exceptional stability, In a way like a Track trainer without the spikes.

Adizero Adios

Next we moved on to the Adizero Adios- Famed by its Marathon World Record when Patrick Makau crossed the 38th Berlin marathon line. Although not as light as the Adizero Feather the Adios contains Continental rubber providing better incline traction and keeping your performance at its peak even in the wettest of conditions! It also contains a Torsion system, a light-based arched system that allows forefoot and rearfoot to move independently for better surface adaptation and stability. This brilliant new technology offers a great transition from heel to toe and is worth a look-in for those suffering from over-pronation.

We also also got our hands on the other footwear with Adizero covering a range of other sporting shoes. The new football boot was also equipped with continental rubber which was concentrated to the front of the boot generating maximum momentum and power from the forward swing of the foot to make sure you hit a whopper every time.

The new range didn't stop at trainers however, the new outdoor range was also worth a peak packed with equally great new features. The Terrex fast R boot-having just won the best shoe award at the outdoor industry awards-contains Continental grip alike the trainers, for better traction in walking and climbing. And there was also a nifty fast toggle lace system, avoiding the unnecessary complication of tying knots and removing gloves.

After ogling the shoe range for a good while we took a break to check out the new fitness clothing range. The new running gear for women included the Adidas Outdoor female active shell, a newly created fabric from Gore-Tex which is light-weight and packable with a helmet compatible hood. Most of the women's tops also contained Climalite, which during exercise pulls sweat away from the skin and out the fabric face for quicker evaporation, great for those ladies looking to avoid working the sweaty look on the treadmill!

The new Stella McCartney range

The highlight of the day however was getting up close and personal with the new Stella McCartney sports range. The layout looked great and so did the gear! Our personal highlights were the 1st ever Stella wet-suit and the all-in-one jogging suit, very chic indeed! The Tennis range also looked great along with the women's casual sportswear with some interesting cuts and shades.

Last but not least we headed over to Adidas Originals to talk to the friendly JohnDoe PR. There were some great stylish new trainers, some extravagant, impractical and fabulous pieces from Jeremy Scott and David Beckham's new range looking very jock! Last but not least was the Olympic range, with some great new jackets, leggings and tops sure to be sought after when they hit the shelves. All-in-all a day well spent!
