As a grassroots sportswear brand that champions the everyday athlete, unlike other sportswear brands we don't spend marketing budgets on professional athlete endorsement. 

Instead we look to do gain exposure by working with like-minded partners to help spread our belief in accessibility of sports and quality sportswear, and in the joint promotion of grassroots sports. 

A few months ago the opportunity arose for Tribesports to talk to parkrun about a possible partnership. For those of you that don’t know what parkrun is, then suffice to say it’s a global running movement at phenomenal scale. 

parkrun started back in 2004 when 13 runners got together on a blustery day in Bushy Park, Teddington, UK. It’s now an international family of one million runners in 543 parks worldwide. All this achieved in the space of 10 years.

At Tribesports we love that parkrun is such a simple concept: turn up every Saturday and run 5km, or if you’re a junior then 2km every Sunday. It doesn’t matter how fast you go. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing. What matters is taking part.

The parkrun founding ethos to always remain free and accessible to runners of all abilities, and to activate local communities is very closely aligned to our thinking. A partnership with parkrun seemed such a perfect match and we jumped at the chance to work with Paul Sinton-Hewitt and his parkrun teams around the world.

For those of you that know the history of Tribesports – we kick-started our own sportswear business through our community, with much inspiration coming from our coveted ‘Join The Tribe’ tees that were handed to our dedicated users of the week. 

Like Tribesports, parkrun believe in dedication and perseverance, and to help motivate their runners coming back each week, they created milestone clubs for their runners in order to celebrate them reaching a set number of parkruns; 10 completed runs for juniors, then 50, 100, 250 and, if you can believe it, 500 completed runs. These clubs have taken on significant status not just in the parkrun community, but as medals of success across the running world.

Tribesports and parkrun have struck a five-year deal, with Tribesports providing co-branded technical tees to the qualifying members of these clubs. In all both parties expect 300,000 tees to be awarded over the period of the deal. 

We couldn’t think of a better partnership in keeping with our ethos. These are iconic, celebration tees – they are earned – and require hard work and commitment. We’re proud that these dedicated athletes of all levels, ages and nationalities will be working towards a Tribesports product. We’re delighted to support the parkrun Milestone clubs and over the moon to have joined the parkrun family.
