Can I start by saying how thrilled I am to be selected as UotW I take every opportunity to spread the TS word to anybody I come into contact with in a sporting environment. I remain as enthusiastic using the site as when I was first introduced to it back in April this year.

You're one of our go-to exercise and fitness nuts - what got you into exercise?
I rediscovered all things sporty after losing 32lb and finding that as a slimmer person, I wanted to improve and optimise my body, my fitness and my nutrition. I keep a daily food diary to this day as I control calories which keeps my nutrition on point and helps  me manage my macros (protein/carbs/fat).  I love being fit and healthy and there is nothing quite like waking up in the morning feeling ready for the day and full of energy and liking what you see in the mirror.

Do you have a favourite exercise?
I discovered bootcamp training with Forces Fitness who's instructors are all ex-army PT instructors. Loved it from the first minute. Every session is different, the cameraderie is infectious, we only exercise outside whatever the weather and I am fitter, stronger, healthier and more active than I have ever been in my life.  I don't actually have a favourite exercise per se, I just love getting my kit on, plugging in my MP3 and getting outside and doing it.  That's why TS is so great for me - all the challenges help me formulate circuits and routines to do in my back garden.

Military fitness has clearly had a massive influence on your exercise routine, when did you start attending boot camps?  
Jax flipping a tyre with military fitness groupI began bootcamp training 18 months ago - and achieved their member of the year award in December last year.  I cannot even begin to articulate how wonderful it is to have found a form of exercise that makes me want to go back for more no matter what the weather.  The fitter I get, the more I want to do and the more I want to achieve with my fitness - I only wish I had done this years ago.

Which of all your Challenge has been your toughest and which are you most proud of?
Some challenges are easier than others.  The burpee challenges are always fun but tough. The one's where I have whooped and done a victory lap around the garden was the 8 minute wall squat and the 70 press-ups Challenge. Of course, when I say victory lap - I hobbled a little, stumbled and just managed to put one foot in front of the other after the wall squatting!  I had a lot of fun with the 20 hand clap pressups as I was competing with Nick B and the banter was great...and I beat him to complete it (although I think we agreed never to mention it again!) although had no use of my wrists for 4 weeks afterwards!

Your backyard circuit looks pretty hardcore - did all that kit accrue over time or one big shopping trip?
My backyard circuit is an accumulation of years of collecting kit that didn't get used much and more recent purchases targeted specifically at doing the exercises I love such as boxing/sparring/ weights/aerobic - well you get the picture!  Next on my list is a med ball and weighted vest - its my birthday soon, fingers crossed!!

Which Tribesports users make your day?
The TS member who always makes my day is Greg S. Despite the fact that he lives on the other side of the world, we encourage, motivate & badger one another to maximise our workouts.    There are other TS members who always make me giggle and smile - Nick B, Baldy John, Neil C...too many to mention because I find myself smiling at posts by all members of the TS community. I just think its awesome that we can all influence one anothers training, techniques, nutrition, share knowledge and share a love for all things sport.

What's your favourite quote?
I don't have a favourite quote but when I am running up the hill of death and my body is screaming at me to stop, I just remember that it can only get easier and then when I get to the top, I feel fantastic!
