Jenn BWhich Tribesports Challenge has been your toughest and which are you most proud of?

Physically and mentally the toughest challenge for me would have been the Complete a Duathlon 4km run/30km cycle/4km run.  I was so excited to complete it, I've never pushed myself to even attempt something like that before.  I thought about it all week and knew Saturday morning April 26th would be the day.  I woke up early and ready to kick butt.  I wasn't sure how I'd do on the last 4km so I took it easy on the first 4km, shouldn't have because once I got off the bike I was ready to run and could have kept on running.  My time wasn't the best 1:47:33, but I'm proud to have it under my belt and ready for the next time.

You're clearly a big fan of the boys vs girls Challenges - which one is the competition closest with at the moment?

I'm crazy competitive so those types of challenges are always fun for me.  Right now there seems to be a lot of DOTW or the one that Kevin G created Age Doesn't Matter, Young Pups vs Old Dogs it's really fun.  I like showing up someone that's younger then me LOL.  Another one that was really fun was the "Santa vs Snowmen Cycling Challenge" created by Helen L.  I guess I tend to focus mostly on running and cycling.  With anything involving weight lifting being my third choice.

What does a typical day's exercise look like for you?

KayakingA typical day of exercise for me normally takes place during my lunch break from work (Monday to Friday).  My gym is right across the parking lot, so I have no excuse not to get there everyday.  I normally run or bike for a half hour then jump into my routine of weight lifting. Normal stuff, legs one day, back another, so on and so forth.  Evenings is either a walk/hike with the dog or a yoga/boxercise/pilates class.

Saturday and Sundays are my fun days....no time limits, no schedules. I'm able to do whatever I like, Kayaking, climbing, hiking, you name it I'd probably try it.

Which body weight exercise is your favorite?

Ohhh by far Squats!! Gotta keep the butt firm! Why just today I got a compliment in the gym.  Told a guy I'd wait until he was done before I started using the Lying Hamstring Curl machine (small gym, machines are close together) and he said "don't worry about it, you have a nice rump" LOL.   So ladies....do your Squats!!

Nutrition Challenges can be tougher than the sporting ones sometimes, which one would you recommend to a friend?

"Vegan for a Week", I didn't even have to think about this one! It was the best thing I ever did.  It makes you stop and think about everything you're putting in your body.  After the week I felt lighter, happier and successful.  So now I try to promote it to family and friends.  Everyone should try it!

Which piece of Tribesports Performance Wear is on your wishlist?

Well if it's a wishlist....I want them all!!! lol  But the Performance Open Back Tank and the Shorts are at the top of the list.

Which Tribesports users make your day?

Someone that I get a good kick out of and have just recently started talking to is Kristin B, I think she understands my sense of humor and is always there with a kind word of support on a daily bases. Matteo R & Marco C, these two have amazing workout routines, love seeing they're post and they constantly have the encouraging clicks for my little routines...appreciate guys!  Of course you have to mention Tribesports Queen Amanda C, always there supporting and creating, great girl, real go getter and I can't forget Bob K, one of the first TS members to speak to me on a regular bases, he's been quiet lately but always there to encourage.   These are just a few mentioned, some members you tend to hit it off with immediately and then you don't see them again after a month or so, its a shame.  But I appreciate everyone, Tribesport is an amazing website and I'm so happy to have found it!  It really has changed a lot of things in my daily life.

What's your favorite quote?

Let's see, well it isn't from anyone famous, just my little ole Mom, but here it is:

"Don't ever expect someone else to do something you wouldn't do for yourself first".

It was something she always said to my brothers and sister growing up and it kinda stuck.  I've used it in a lot of different situations throughout my life.   Simple words, but puts things in perspective for me most times.
