Stacey BWhich Tribesports Challenge has been your toughest and which are you most proud of?

I have to say Tour de Tribesports has to be my toughest challenge so far, I was so determined to get as many Km's out as possible and I did logging 1902.45km over the 3 weeks and winning the top prize I never knew I could cycle so much before this challenge although not sure I would be able to do it again.

Which charities do you currently fund-raise for?

I do a lot of Charity events centred around Young Epilepsy, to help out special needs children and young adults, my next fundraising event will be to try and get a bigger capacity mini bus for wheelchair users as the youngsters I currently look after are all reliant on wheelchairs when out in the wider community.

Which has been your most successful fundraising event?

To date my most successful fundraising event has to have been a tie between me running the Kamikaze last May and the Combat-athon I put together with the help of 4 very special instructors who were all over the moon to help. 

My next event is going to be a much longer time period, im planning a dance-athon with Les Mills body Jam, Zumba, Fitsteps, Street dance, and as many others as I can gather in at least an hour for each module. 

What does a typical week of training look like for you?

Currently a typical week  for me is very Fitsteps heavy due to being on the instructor course recently and having to film the cha-cha to get a full pass.

  • Fit StepsMondays, I do a double Fitsteps class (45 mins each)
    ,
  • Tuesdays, Fitness yoga, a swim (varying lengths) Punch (a boxercise class) then some Fitsteps practice on my own

  • Wednesdays, spin, Body combat, pump and a swim

  • Thursdays, usually my rest day

  • Fridays, a single Fitsteps class

    Fitsteps
  • Saturday, Pump(when I'm not at work), Fitsteps practice and a swim

  • Sundays, (when I'm not at work in the morning) Body combat and a swim

How have fitness classes and martial arts helped you in your transformation?

Without the fitness classes and martial arts I would have lost interest in my fitness journey, doing the same things on the gym floor occasionally changing it up and always training alone get boring, the fitness classes brought a different spark into my training, a sense of belonging and also helped me to become as confident as I am today. I did martial arts throughout my younger teenager years but stopped when I got to 15/16 when we moved and there wasn't the 'right' type of Karate near where I moved to. 

You're so dedicated to your lifestyle, what is it that really motivates you?

I think what really motivates me is in part not wanting to end up like my parents, over weight with health issues.

But mostly I want to be able to change lives like my instructor friends have done for me, I want to be able to be a great roll model to everyone around me by being able to show them my before and after photo's to prove that what I do does work and continue my madness for fundraising whilst im doing it.

Was there a turning point when you decided to really up your fitness?

There was a turning point when I decided to up my fitness and my healthy eating, it was when my mam was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, this was also at a point where I had hit a plateau in my weight loss so I sought help from a personal trainer.

Thanks again for backing us on Kick-starter! Which piece of sportswear is your favourite in the Tribesports range?

Currently my favourite item of sportswear from the Tribesports range is the shorts, they are so comfortable, durable and they look and feel great.

Which piece of kit would you most like to see join the range?

This one is a hard one for me as all the kit is use is already in the range, but if I had to pick something it would be a decent sized gym bag with plenty of pockets (I have to have certain things for certain fitness classes, plus showering etc. and don't have enough pockets in one bag so use 3 for different days) as its the one thing im struggling to find at the moment.

What's your big Challenge for 2014?

Fitness wise my biggest challenge for 2014 is to get to a 7min mile running, perfect breast stroke (or at least enough so I can comfortably do a few lengths).  So far this year I'm not signed up to any events however my biggest Goal for the year is to get as many fitness qualifications as possible and join the Royal Air Force as a PTI (personal training instructor).

Which Tribesports users make your day?

This one is a tough one, I know every says that but it really is as I've met and am good friends with a few of my fellow tribe members.

Jane H, Mama-Ninja has to have mention she inspires me to do more than I already do, she is also one I would most like to meet and train with hopefully one day I will get over to her side of the world I love to read what training Jane gets up to.

Eunice Y, one my dearest tribe friends again I would love to meet in person and train with. She always lots of encouragement and inspiring words to share with everyone, reading though her posts I cant help but smile.

Teresa D, one of the first to become my Tribesports family, always so encouraging, friendly and inspiring.

Vylisa A, One of my fellow tribe members whom I have actually met up with such a little fire cracker, all of her Burpees both inspire me but also make me most nervous. How can anyone like Burpees? She works so hard in everything she does she is an amazing friend to have I count myself very lucky to have her in my life.

Amanda C, One of my new Tribesports friends but also one of the best to join up with, together we almost beat the rest of the days of the week to 50,000 calf raisers, but she's another odd ball who actively enjoys Burpees.

Donna COne of the first people from Tribesports that I met face to face, She is an amazing runner (if only I could run as well as she does) Donna is a right little pocket rocket an amazing friend and an inspiration.

Theresa S, The very first Fellow Tribesports user I ever met, I took her Zumba class and although she's not that active on here I still get encouragement from her all the time on Facebook, always welcome to any of her classes when I'm up visiting, Always being invited to her fitness events (though cant make many of them due to distance).

There are so many others who I would continue to name but I would be here all day all of my fellow Tribesports users make my day in their own unique way.
