Maria G User of the WeekFrom an alien to a wicked witch, your profile pictures are always good fun, what's the plan for the festive season? Maria Claus perhaps?

My favorite time of the year, and there will most certainly be a festive profile pic or two. There really is no immediate plan, it kind of just happens on a whim, but a Maria Claus is definitely a possibility! You will however NOT see a Scrooge or a Grinch! This is the season to spread some extra joy around! And eat lots of fruit cake! : )

What's been your favourite Tribesports Challenge to date and which has been the toughest?

I have a recent new favorite: Two weeks, 150 km running. When I started it I thought it was very unlikely my first attempt would be successful, but as the days went by and the km started adding up fast, I realized I could actually do it! I even managed to fit in two rest days. Totally surprised myself!

Toughest..Hmmm..100 push ups in one go is up there, and Standing on one leg with eyes closed. Still working on those. The toughest that I completed was 100 chair dips in one go. Dwight W got me through that one.

You log some impressive distances when you're out and about - did you know you've logged almost 2000km since joining Tribesports? Where would you most like to run in the Maria G running in tropical stormworld?

I really love to run, and I'm not kidding when I say it keeps me sane! 2000km! I have never run this much in a year before, and I owe it to TS, and especially Eran K and Lorain R They are awesome runners and have inspired me to run distances I thought would be way to much for these short legs!

I would love to run the Great wall of China, and considering it's 21,196km, it should keep me busy for a while.: D

You must have total abs of steel - do you think you'll be crunching past the 40,000 mark before the New Year?

I love my abs so much I keep them well protected by a nice layer of fat, He He. Thanks to some crazy number crunch challenges, I have probably done 40.000 by now, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I like all types of crunches, but again, this would not have happened if I had not joined TS : )

What sporting good is Santa bringing you this year?

If you've seen the pic of my ehemmm, small running shoe collection, Santa probably shouldn't bring me any more this year. But I have been really good, so I wouldn't mind a pair of bright green or pink camo Nike Lunarglide ones. Swiftwick running socks for sure!

What's your sporting goal for 2013? Do you have any big Challenges on the horizon?

To run a marathon distance, just for myself. I'm not very competitive, and I do not do well with large crowds, so I have never felt the urge to race. I run for health and enjoyment, but I'm starting to think I probably should enter an organized run just to see if I might actually like it.Guess I just set myself a new goal. Also, I want to do my first pull up!!

Lisa Mac profileWhich Tribesports user makes your day?

So many do!! But if I have to pick just one it would be Lisa M. She is absolutely amazingly fabulous!! Our syncronized burpee, squat and bridge sessions were great fun! Ok, burpees for 30 minutes is NOT fun, but I would never have done it if it wasn't for Lisa's incredible enthusiasm. I can practically feel her energy through my monitor. When she disappeared from TS for a while I went into Lisa withdrawal - I think she could get anyone to do burpees!

Off Tribesports, my dad makes my day; he's 83 and still hikes, cross country skis and never stands still - not even to stop for a photo!!

What's your favourite quote?

I don't know who said this:

" Follow your dream, but take your brain with you"

And this one kicks in when I know I have really messed up.

"If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning"  : )
