Maryse D profileWhich Tribesports Challenge has been the toughest and which are you most proud of?

My toughest challenge was The 9 minutes Wall Squat. I had to really concentrate to keep my position. Static exercises are not my first choice but I still do them because they strengthened all the core and stabilizers muscles. I really had to talk to myself to complete this one.

I have a lot of challenges that I am proud of… but I have two of them that I am really proud of. The first one is 1000 PUSH-UPS IN 30 MINUTES completed in 28:12 and 500 PUSH-UPS IN 10 MINUTES I completed in 8:24 .

Just this week I tested myself again and completed 250 push-ups in 2:40 my best time ever!!!! 

You're clearly very dedicated to your training, what does your average week look like?

I work out about 21 hours per week. I am very fortunate to have my own private gym at home.So I can go whenever I want. Each workout is about 3 hours long, and if I could I would spend more time in the gym. I also work out outdoors too. When I go trail running I like to use my surroundings like logs, tree trunks, benches whatever I find I use it to exercise. I also like variety so I don't get comfortable when I train. I like to struggle , I like to hurt when I train… it makes me stronger each time....Like I always say :

The pain you feel when you train is the strength growing inside you.

To create an intense workout I don't need much equipment. I work in fitness so I am always very active. I prefer to work out early in the morning I find it starts my day well and keeps my metabolism revving high all day. I work out every day most of the time. When I can't I find it very difficult. I need to exercise like I breathe… it is my way of life. I couldn't live without it! I don't get muscle soreness often so even after a crazy workout, the next morning I am ready to go!!! I am so thankful for that!!!

Which is your favorite exercise to train with?

My favorite exercise… Push-ups!!!!!!!!

I am addicted to them! I like this exercise because you can do them anywhere and there is so many different ways of doing them. They are also a great upper body builder and core strengthener. I always have push-ups in my training regimen!  Every push-up challenges I am there. I don't think I could ever get bored of them. I don't remember how it started but I was crowned The TS Push Up Queen (laugh) some people even think I do push-ups in my sleep!!!

How do you feel yoga benefits your lifestyle?

Yoga poseI don't practice Yoga as much as I would like to, but I incorporate a lot of poses in my post training. I use them to stretch and to do breathing exercises. I also use The Sun Salutation often as a warm up before my workout. I use Yoga to maintain my joint and muscle flexibility.

Maintaining a lean physique like yours requires a very strict diet - what does yours involve?

Yes my diet is very strict. I don't like junk foods and I rarely eat out. I like to cook my own food and I am open to a lot of different foods as long as it’s healthy. To maintain my muscle mass I consume about 3000 calories per day. I eat a lot of fish, sea food, chicken, turkey. I don't like red meat that much but I have it once a week to keep my iron level to normal. I also eat a lot of veggies, fruits, grains and I love Greek yoghurt. I also take protein shakes otherwise I would be sitting at the table eating all day! I have to eat something every 2 hours so my energy level never drops. My body is like a clock. So if I don't get to eat when its time, you don't want to be around me LOL!!! I make sure that it doesn't happen too often. So I always have my snacks with me where ever I go.

Where in the world would you most like to complete a Challenge?

Good question. I have never been out of Canada!!! 

Hmmm...what about Italy? Or even in the United States… something like Virginia Beach maybe… for a Push-up Challenge!!!

Which Tribesports user makes your day?

It is hard for me to choose but I do have some special people on TS that are really dear to me and they have been my supporters since the beginning .I love this Community and I really belong here with my crazy workouts!!!

Rick P and Eunice - these two people are a great support to me and they have a special place in my heart. They have been there since my beginning on TS.

Matteo is a great example of a loving and caring person to others. Always there to encourage and cheer me up. Thank you for that virtual friendship Matt!!!

The last but not least...Mr Richard HaningerThis man is a great example of strength, and determination. He is also been a very important person to me on TS. We challenge each other, we motivate each other and everyday he is there to support me. Richard, you are my inspiration and you make me work harder thank you!!!

I would love to mention everybody but it would take too long... I just want to thank you ALL for your support my TS friends...you guys are wonderful... I really love this place...like I said once...i feel here at home. Awesome people and great challenges!!! Thank you TS!!!!

What's your favorite quote?

I have two of them. My first one comes from Tom Stoppard. 

"A healthy attitude is contagious but don't wait to catch it from others; be a carrier." 

The second one from Lou Holz, describes me very well;
