Natalie medals!Which Tribesports Challenge has been your toughest and which are you most proud of?

The challenges that involve exercises like squats and lunges would be the toughest as I don't particularly like them and can't do that many of them, eventhough I know it will strengthen my leg muscles and improve my running. I would be most proud of completing the Qualify for the Boston Marathon if I actually took the challenge in the first place, but it wasn't even on my radar that I would get a qualifying time when I did the Melbourne Marathon in 2013! Similarly, I didn't take the Run a marathon in less than 3:30hrs for the same reason.

What are your current PBs in 5km and half marathon? Do you have any big targets you'd like to hit in 2014?

My current  PB for 5km is 21:55 which I got in November 2013 and for the half-marathon it's 1:40:35 which I got in July 2013. Last year was an amazing year for me with PBs for 5km, 10km, half marathon and full marathon distances. 2013 has been my highlight year for running since I started in 2008 - PBs, my highest mileage year of running, joining a running group, and participating in 19 events! My big target for 2014 is just to keep running for as long as I comfortably and safely can as I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant, and then to gradually resume running afterwards.

What's your favorite Challenge you're working on right now?

That would be the newly created (by me!) challenge of Pregnant Running Through Your Second Trimester. I'm also enjoying the team running challenges like Boys v Girls - First to Run 1000km.

Jane H and NatalieIt's awesome that you and @janeh met up at the Melbourne half - how was the race?

I think I was more nervous about introducing myself to Jane than the race itself as I'm a rather shy person and we only met up at that race by chance (in one of the underground city car parks of all places!)! But the race was great - it's my current half marathon PB, it's the 5th year in a row that I've run that particular race, the commemorative medal is a keeper and there's great entertainment along the course! I also got to catch up with Jane at the finish for our first photo together.

Which did you prefer: color runs or mud runs?

I've only done one colour run and fun as it was, I'd prefer a mud/obstacle run hands down! It's more challenging and it's actually quite fun to get dirty. I'd recommended anyone who enjoys running & fitness to do a Tough Mudder at least once - the atmosphere and camaraderie amongst strangers is quite unique.

Which piece of Tribesports Performance Wear is on your wish list?

I'm eyeing off the women's performance 2-in-1 shorts - I've seen them on Jane and they look fantastic!

Congrats on your chin-up progression, which body weight exercise do you find most effective in your training?

Well, I'm not sure if two or three chin-ups is much of a progression! I haven't done them for a while and I don't love them, but I think burpees would be the most effective body weight exercise - it's a total workout and can be done anywhere.

Which Tribesports users make your day?

First and foremost - Jane H - I'm so lucky that we live in the same city and that she has joined the same running group as me (Running in the Burbs), so we see each other regularly and even car pool to events. She is encouraging, supportive and very friendly...I cannot speak highly enough of Jane and if it wasn't for TS, we probably would never have met! 

Eunice Y also deserves a special mention for being the first one to encourage me when I joined TS and has continued to be encouraging and is super nice!

Of course, there are so many other inspiring and positive people here, but I will also make mention of Barry Y who I think is a top bloke and I hope one day I will finally meet!
