In your bio, you've set out some really clear goals for the year - how are they coming on?

Some of my goals have been coming along great.  I've reached a few of the shorter term ones, and am still aiming for that half marathon by the end of June (even if not an official one, at least making that distance!).  I've kind of slacked on the push-ups goal, though, so this is a great reminder to get on with it.    Admittedly, the best thing for helping me work towards each of these goals has been having a great friend as a workout buddy.  Even though she and I are at different fitness levels, we keep each other going, whether to the gym, the trails or eating healthier.

Which has been your toughest Challenge on Tribesports?

Hmm. Toughest challenge on Tribesports? Probably running a given number of miles or kilometers in a month.  I love running, and get out there a lot, but I rarely make anything over about 30 kilometers in a month, despite having higher hopes like 100km. But I'm okay with that, because it keeps pushing me to get out there and go further and further each month.  One of these months, soon, I'm going to make it!

Your journey from Key West to Canada sounds amazing - was it all done without using human powered transport?

Key West to Canada

It was amazing!  Loved seeing so many places and meeting amazing people all along the way.  I started in Key West and started biking up Florida.  Made it up the coast, but became ill in Cocoa Beach area, so had to get in the support vehicle at that point.  When I got back on the trail, however, I made up the miles in local areas on the rest of the trek north.  Any time I was "stuck" by bad weather, illness, injury or anything else, I made up the miles so that I'd do the same distance, even if I had to hitch a ride for a bit (because of the deadlines for theatrical performances I was giving along the way).

Which part of America was your favourite to travel through - any epic trails to recommend to others?

It's not a trail, but the most beautiful part of the trip was biking/running A1A through Florida.  It's right on the coast for much of the ride, and takes you through little towns and villages, beautiful housing communities, etc., and is less traveled so the safety level is much higher, too, making it easier to enjoy the scenery.  Be sure to hit Key Biscayne in Miami, too.  Just bike up the island, over the bridges, and all the way to the end, which is a State Park.  I recommend that route to anybody walking/biking/jogging.  It's just stunning.

How did you first start playing ultimate frisbee?

In college, I was invited to a game on the beach at Lake Michigan.  And I was lousy and felt like I shouldn't bother with future games.  But when I moved back to Florida, friends from church got me into it a bit again.  They've been doing pick-up games on Sunday afternoons for years, but I only went on occasion.  When I really got back into running this past fall however, it occurred to me that I love playing frisbee and running, so it would make sense to give it a shot again.  So, I did and discovered that I love it way more than just running.  Now, I play every week that I possibly can!

Vibram 5 Fingers

We see you've picked up a pair of minimalist running shoes - how are you finding them?

I love my Vibram 5-Fingers!  I won't run in anything else now.  I'm a huge barefoot fan, and in Florida there are so many biting bugs and things that the lack of cold weather doesn't kill off, so having minimalist shoes lets me have the best of both worlds, and I couldn't be happier with that.  And when flowers get stuck between my toes, I get to offer "toe flowers" to friends during Ultimate games. ;)

Where in the world would you most like to complete a Challenge?

Ooh, that's a tough one.  Hmm...  Probably West Coast of Australia or maybe Tibet, or the cliffs of Ireland.  Guess I should start planning those trips?

Which Tribesports user makes your day?

Gotta start with a huge shout out to my best friend, Leslie B, and my workout buddy and close friend, Celina P, and "Super Burpee" Paris F, along with Baldy John, Crista A, Azucena M, Jarod C, Jim K, Brian F (Looking forward to that tea!), Venise G, Brad M, Bey G, Tycho H, Carol Ann B, Jane H, Brandon G.  Thanks, guys, for your constant encouragement and the many great conversations we've had about everything!
