A change is as good as a rest, and you'll get more enjoyment from commuting by bike if you vary the route. Map out and ride 4 entirely new routes, preferably not using any of the same roads except the first and last. As a bonus, you'll get to know more of your local area at the same time - you might find places you never knew existed!
For the avoidance of doubt, all 5 routes must be from the same start point to the same end point - the challenge is to take some longer round-the-houses routes, and explore the local area at the same time.

Helen T 3/5 Road works forced me to take a detour, good thing I had a few options mapped out in my mind =D
Helen T 2/5 Felt weird cycling the opposite way to work but it was the only way to get onto the road I needed to in order to approach from a different direction - the hills much easier this way...On the way back I took the wrong turn off and headed in the total opposite way to home, could have turned back but decided to explore. Got lost and eventually got home...try the intended route next time.
Cags R Route 1 - my usual commute via London Bridge yesterday
Route 2 completed this morning - for the past 10 months, I've gone over London Bridge, today I decided to go on the boyfriend's route via Tower Bridge to see the difference - 1km shorter and 10 mins quicker - this Challenge has already paid off!
I'm using the Thames Bridges to count each new route - the routes are definitely about to get a lot longer!!

Ris S Route 3 done. 2.1km further than normal route.
I've done the long way left and the long way right and obviously the normal way. Now for the in between ones.

Cherukei O I've only managed 3 routes so far, need to up the ante a bit grrr... I don't mind the extra work, just need to find the other 2
Ashley C Rode 3 different routes to work today: 1, picked up coffee at a drive-thru hut; 2, took the "long way" parkway, saw the trees in bloom and the creek running, extremely calming. 3rd was a repeat, took the straight shoot after lunch because I always take too long at lunch! Tomorrow, I'm thinking about riding the BIG BLOCK, maybe snagging coffee from the other drive-thru on the other end of town...
