Improving your sports performance and fitness is all about improving your pace, and pushing yourself when you're out on a run or in a race. Challenge yourself to lower your personal best below one of the accepted 'level's' of 5k times - beat the sub 20 minute 5k time.

Martin N Run a 5k in less than 20 mins Challenge

Contributorgold Martin N Just started this challenge, more of a long term aim. Started Parkruns last August, and have gradually seen my PB come down from 26 mins to 21.39, so still a bit to go but good to have long term challenges!

I'm sure you will get there although it may require some dedicated training. Sub-20 is also my goal.

Elaine B Run a 5k in less than 20 mins Challenge

Contributorgold Elaine B 19 mins and 22 seconds on 11th Jan - I was nearly sick on km4 but by then I had 20 seconds in credit so just pushed through, then you get this HUGE endorphin rush when the clock is still within the 18th min and you're nearly there. This is an ace challenge. Cardio circuit training definately helps build up the stamina needed to complete it>
