Strengthen your trunk for water polo - 50 T Push Ups in o...

The trunk is core to success in water polo - making sure power is transferred from the legs, through the shoulders and to the arms.

One of the best ways to strengthen both your shoulders and trunk is to use closed chain exercises as they activate more of the stabilizing musculature of the shoulder joint (i.e. rotator cuff muscles). Push Ups allow more natural movement of the whole shoulder complex when compared to Bench Pressing. And throw in the T, and we're talking great water polo training.

Not just for water polo players though - anyone looking to really strengthen and challenge their trunk and core, can try this challenge - train yourself up to be able to do 50 T Push Ups in one go without stopping (50 push ups, 25 arm raises each arm)
