I would recommend starting with the elliptical and once you build your cardio transition to the treadmill then trail running. That seemed to work for me when I started incorporating running into my daily routine.

I am far from an expert runner, however I can spot the simple common errors beginners are guilty of:

1- over stiding

2- heel striking

3-pushing too hard

Contributorbronze Samantha M ok, so 1 mile for the next 7 days :) This is in addition to my regularly scheduled routines. 1st one today, and made it up THE HILL on the first try, proving that my winter routine worked, since I walked up THE HILL for the first week or so when I started running last year.

I have got up to 11.5 KM which I am pleased with cant say I feel the high yet though. will persist though

that is just too bad! Maybe you need to take it outside. I can't do it on a treadmill. I'd prob give up after the first 5 min!
