Getting Fit at 50

I've just turned 50 and hit that stage where no matter what I do I gain weight. My metabolism has slowed and my energy is being zapped. So what did I do? I started an exercise program. I weight lift and do aerobics. So if you're 50 and stalled in your life, let's get together and share ideas about how to get over little and big obstacles. Follow each other and comment and provide support and friendship. Let's all get fit so we make it to our 60's.

Alex B At first, did you calculate you calories need?
Calories intake?
In my opinion (I’m just turned 55 at April 20, and I was in your situation 5 years ago) any aerobic is secondary.
What I would suggest – calories intake calculation and food journal, regular weight training. Set the goals and rich them one by one.
Cutting back calories without understanding your intake and spending is shortcut to gain more and more pounds.
As less you are eating as more your body scared by “bad hunting season” and start deposit fat.
