Milos Z Life's Treasures Tribe

Contributorgold Milos Z Ok, so coming here from "Life's Treasures" challenge. So, how did TS improve my life? It didn't. It changed it. I joined here in March, April, something like that. Since than, I've done quite an amount in reps. But all of that wouldn't matter if I haven't changed my nutrition in general. At first, it was all about: do 50 push ups, do 100 crunches, bridges, planks, but than I started taking those more challenging ones like: 2l of water/month, running a couple of times in a week for 4 weeks, etc. Those changed my life.
I wake up every morning earlier, drink a lot more water a day, eat better and healthier, I even make my bed every day I wake up! I have never done those things like it was a "have to do" thing. My life was so sloppy before TS, grouchy when I have to workout, lazy. Now, I can say that I am a better person, not just because of the things I mentioned, but because of all those reading and answering questions, encouraging others, being encouraged, competing! I mean, last time I ran, I saw an older man, in his 50s i think. He was running and sweating so much, you could see he was in pain! I ran next to him, encouraging him, telling him that he CAN do it! I've never done that before. Ever!
Then comes the main thing why we workout. I actually have abs now! Like those 6-packs you see on TV commercials or on those ripped up guys at the beach. Abs! I've never had them! That was a flat area on me. My dad has heart problems, so he measures his blood pressure often. I started measuring it, too, and it is always perfect! I feel healthy, I look healthy. My shape is great, I can run, jump, crouch, I'm hyperactive now. I mean, when I see those kids in my street playing Hide & Seek, Jumping rope or that game we call "Kem-Kem", it's a kind of a shooting game, I play with them, EVERY TIME! Also, I have a lot higher confidence about myself now, not just because of the look, but because of the person I am now.
I don't think I'm ever going to stop training, at least I'm never going to be fat! I don't want to insult or anything, but that's a promise I made to myself. I love being fit and active and I want to stay that way for ever. You asked me how did TS help me? This community is what keeps me going. All of you who are older than me, having kids, jobs, obligations, AND STILL you have time to workout. I admire you. You motivate me. You make me think:"I want that!". And when I have it, I'll be here to brag about it. (Sorry for my bad English. Cheers.)

Helen L Life's Treasures Tribe

Contributorgold Helen L One of the best things about TS is that it has enabled me to do things that I would never have dreamed of. If you had told me last year that I would fall in love in yoga, I would never had believed it. 6 years ago I was forced to stop running because I damaged the ligaments in my back, I never thought I would run again and yet this evening I have signed up for my local 5k. Ok, it's not the half marathon that was training for 6 years ago, but it is a big step forward for me, it feels awesome and you just can't beat that feeling! :)))))

Thank you Terri! I went for a run this mornin, well I say run, I could easily be overtaken by someone walking!! When I used to run previously I was always trying to go that bit further, or beat my previous time, now I am not in position to do that, but it just feels soo good to be out there in the fresh air and the sunshine and just enjoy it! :)

Kate N Life's Treasures Tribe

Contributorgold Kate N 1. FUN - For the first time in my life, exercise has become FUN!!
2. SUPPORT - My partner has many strengths, but being a cheerleader is not one of them. I have found the encouragement and support that motivates me on TS. This is so important for me as I live on a VERY remote farm and might not see other people for 2-3 weeks at a time.
3. HEALTHY HABITS - TS has helped me develop new, healthier daily routines and diets. The moment I get up I drink water instead of coffee just so I can tick off a TS challenge (!) and that somehow sets me up on a good track for the rest of the day to eat well and fit in some exercise.
4. CONFIDENCE - I feel like I am a winner every time I tick off a challenge - even if it's a small/silly one like a few sit-ups. This is unlike some fitness regimes I have followed in the past that made me feel like a failure.
5. ENERGY - I feel bouncy, healthy and energetic pretty much most of the time. That's a first!
6. GUIDING - We run an activity holiday business in the mountains. Previously I was pretty much stuck on logictics and back-up as I wasn't fit enough to act as guide. Now I do most of the hiking guiding and love it!
7. NEW EXPERIENCES - TS has introduced me to a whole range of new exercises (I'm another one who was new to yoga), new ideas and new ways of appreciating the world around us.

Brilliant list Kate! I love being able to tick off each challenge too. I first joined TS in January when I was trying to regain my fitness after an op - even being able to do 10 push ups gave me such a confidence boost when I needed it. By being able to build up my fitness and actually see how I had progressed was brilliant

Helen L Life's Treasures Tribe

Contributorgold Helen L TS has also introduced me to yoga. I would NEVER have even contemplated trying yoga if I hadn't been inspired to try it on here! I've only introduced it to my exercise regime within the last few weeks, but I am already feeling the benefit of daily yoga stretches. LOVE it!

My neck is the BEST it has been in years and it is all thanks to your challenges Anne Margaret! I went to my physio appointment this morning and I have been discharged because it is 300% better! From your challenge, I have gone on to build up about 25 (easy!!) poses - I even take 10 minutes to do some at my desk at work! I have a long way to go yet and I do look rather cumbersome getting in and out and poses, but they are now a permanent part of my exercise regime and I look forward to doing them. I LOVE it, so thank you!

You made my day too...I am so happy for you!!! This truly is a great site where we simply share what works for us and watching the positive impact that it has on you and others as it already had on myself - it is what I love! When I come to GB, I'm looking you up and we'll have dinner. :)

Helen L Life's Treasures Tribe

Contributorgold Helen L So glad I found TS! I've found motivation and inspiration and I love the community here - to be surrounded by postive, encouraging members is just fantastic. It is surprising how much negativity I encounter from my family and friends for me just wanting to achieve my goals, so it is sooo good to be in the community of like minded people

20160423150309-mamatthejjb

Big hugs to you Anne Margaret, YOU are awesome, I have had a little niggly neck problem for 12 years and then I aggravated those few weeks ago - you have changed my life :) :) :)
