Running with Glandular fever

I’ve been running for a couple of years & have completed events of various lengths including Ultra events. As part of this the training is pretty intense & virtual continual. However, I have suffered with Glandular fever since I was first diagnosed with it when I was 14. For those who aren’t aware of it you can read up on it at:

It's basically a viral infection that can cause severe fatigue. When it flares up… best I get by and at worst it floors me…..there is no treatment, only rest & plenty of fluids…..not ideal when your training for ultra’s. As a result I can go for long periods suffering from the virus which totally destroys any training plans I set.

I’d be grateful to hear views/thoughts from others who suffer from GF and how they cope with it when training...and in general. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of advice so hopefully tribe members can shine some light on this subject.

Interesting read here from Andrew Steele who suffers from GF and competes for GB:
