Andrew B Unilateral training (The art of the single limb lift) Tribe

Contributorbronze Andrew B Ok, so I was really keen to get the elusive one arm-pull up and worked myself a bit hard a few weeks ago. I'd just gained enough strength to do controlled negative one arm pull ups so in my excitement I did them every day for a few consecutive days. My arms got really sore, especially in the shoulder joint - It turns out I was developing tendonitis. I had to take a week off all working out (which was painful in a different way) and let it heal. So i guess the lesson I learned is to take slow steps to avoid injury.

Andrew B Unilateral training (The art of the single limb lift) Tribe

Contributorbronze Andrew B Been working on one-arm-chinups lately and have a small tip for anyone that is also trying to learn them. When I do assisted one-arms (I grip a towel linked over the bar with the non-dominant hand) I find it helps to think about bringing my elbow towards my belly-button rather than down the side of my body. When I started doing it like this it became a lot easier (I've still got a long way to go though!).
