Women's Rugby

I'm seeing a great lack of representation for the women folk in the rugby section of Tribesports. Thought I'd do something about it.
So here you go ladies of the rugby persuasion! A place to talk to fellow Rugby girls about anything you may wish: matches won; matches lost; training; lack of training; finding a new team; finding new players; fighting against prejudice; and anything else you may care to discuss.

Contributorbronze Ros W scrum training tonight.... what are your thoughts on the new engagement? crouch, bind, set??

20130202221557-thaksz

It just doesn't seem right, was there a need for change?

apparently it's to make the game faster, and less dangerous....it kind of seems to be doing that job, i means that the pack needs to communicate more efficiently tho other wise it's a bit of "surprise ball!!" i've only done it in practice so far....so will have to wait and see if it works in a game :s

have you spoken to your coaches about your lack of confidence? they could probably help you out a fair bit! is it in training? matches? or both? certain elements (kick off, tackling etc) or more generally? Im studying sports psychology so may be able to give you some hints and tips but i think your coaches are the main point of contact :)

Thanks ross :) am i've explained everything to my coaches about wanting to become faster at running not afraid of tackling etc i've started concentrating on getting fit since may and determined to work harder and its going really well for me yesterday for the first time ever i did a 10km run with stopping to walk and run

Hannah T Women's Rugby Tribe

Contributorbronze Hannah T Thought I'd post a couple of links to some YouTube videos. My fav female players are Danielle Waterman and Non Evans. There's a great video on Non Evans - she's a machine!! There's also a funny video of Danielle Waterman playing for England versus NZ - aggressive much? Good stuff!!
